We have comprised a list of some of the easiest and most popular DIY projects for both indoors and out, that you can do during this uncertain time.
You know that room that has needed a coat of paint since you moved in? The time has never been better to tackle it. Painting is one of the easiest ways to spruce up a room. Here are some of the most popular paint trends for 2020.
The 2020 Pantone Color of the Year is Classic Blue. It is reminiscent of the sky at dusk. It can be used for any room and has a nice calming effect.
White on white on white
This may seem boring but it is not. Over the years it has developed into a layered and more subtle color choice. Moody whites set against a clean, modern white has become all the rage. White has the ability to always be in.
Burnt Orange and Rust
While this color can be too much for a whole room it can be a great addition for a pop of color, especially outside. Use it someplace that you won’t be attacked by it constantly, like on your front door.
Colors like charcoal, off-black and peacock blue have become increasingly popular this year. They can both be invigorating and calming. However, they do have the ability to become dated easily.
Masculine colors like hunter green, navy blue, and saddle brown are having their moment in the sun. They are becoming chic and timeless.
Install Custom Blinds & Shades (Preferably Honey Comb Shades by Shade-O-Matic)
A new fixture can completely makeover a room. Ditch those old drapes for the more modern Honey Comb Shades by Shade-O-Matic Canada. Compliment them by adding some Edison bulbs. Get rid of that outdated bedroom light by putting in a chic chandelier. That boring wall with the two picture frames? Make it a feature wall, shop online for designer wallpapers by AS Creation, Rasch and Norwall just to name a few.
Swap out dated flooring
Natural wood and stone flooring is a trend with an upward trajectory. Carpet is still a popular flooring choice for some rooms. If you want a great flooring choice try the Evoke VCC Vinyl Flooring. It is an extremely popular vinyl flooring in Toronto, Vancouver, Saskatoon and Calgary.
Bring the outside in
One of the easiest and cheapest ways to update a bland or dated space is to add plants and flowers. Even simple potted plants can freshen the air in a home and bring vitality to a room. If you do not have a green thumb do not worry, you are not stuck with only cactus plants, the following plants are hardy and nearly impossible to kill. Choose a Chinese Evergreen, an asparagus fern, or a fun and stylish Money Tree.
It does not have to cost or take a lot of time to update your space. Just a little imagination, time and you can have a whole new look.
